The old way of getting a crown: two appointments, a goopy impression, a temporary that pops off at the worst possible moment, and two to three weeks of waiting for a lab. We don't do it that way. At Newpoint Family Dental, we use CEREC to design, mill, and place a permanent ceramic crown in a single visit.
How CEREC Works
- Digital scan โ We capture your tooth with a small intraoral camera. No trays, no goop.
- Digital design โ We design your crown on-screen, shaped to match your bite and neighboring teeth. You can watch.
- In-office milling โ Our milling unit carves the crown from solid ceramic in about 15 minutes.
- Bonding โ We try it in, verify fit and bite, then bond it permanently. Done.
When Do You Need a Crown?
Crowns restore teeth too damaged for a filling: large cavities, cracked teeth, teeth after root canals, severely worn or broken teeth, or replacing old failing crowns. Patients across Farmington Valley choose us for same-day crowns because the convenience is genuine, not a gimmick.
